Jim Dixon, owner and operator of "A Boudoir Image" and Jim Dixon Photography, is a multi-awarded and multi-published photographer with over 20 years experience as a full-time professional. He has represented Canada in International Photo Salons, exhibitions, and competitions over 20 times and has won numerous International awards in the United States, Japan, and Canada, including competitions held by Nikon, and by Photographer's Forum magazine, and by the Calgary Stampede's International Photo Salon. PHOTOGRAPHY" Annuals A well-rounded photographer, who's equally adept and comfortable shooting indoors and out, Jim utilizes a large arsenal of lighting techniques, at his disposal, to help create different looks and effects. His experience with people is probably one of his most valuable assets, as he has met and photographed a huge range of individuals in a variety of circumstances, from a former United States president (and other high-ranking government officials and politicians), to authors, actors, singers, dancers, comedians (and other entertainers), to models and athletes, to university professors (and other educators), to most frequently, average people of all ages and all walks of life! So far, Jim has photographed people from 42 different countries, 28 states of the United States, and every province and territory of Canada, and has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to bring out each client's individual personality in his photography. Jim's easy-going, non-judgmental nature, combined with his eagerness to please, usually puts most people at ease almost immediately. Helping people feel good about themselves is an important aspect of Jim's photo sessions, as is providing a safe, comfortable, fun, and friendly atmosphere in a totally non-threatening environment. Jim strives to bring out the best in every individual client and feels half the job is getting people comfortable and relaxed, which is one of the reasons he doesn't like to put time limits on his photo shoots. He doesn't want anybody to feel rushed. He likes to work with each individual, to help him or her accomplish their own personal photographic goal(s), and enjoys the variety of work he gets. Jim also gets great satisfaction from helping people "come out of their shell", so to speak, and achieve results greater than they ever thought possible.
