Born in Belgium in 1949. Married with 3 children.

Being a computer engineer to earn a living, I ‘transform’ myself into a photographer during evenings and weekends and spend all my available free time on all things connected to photography.

I’ve always been interested in visual arts, already since my childhood.

I saw countless films those days, which must have been my primordial education in the visual techniques. When I was about 18 I got myself a Super 8 camera and started filming, first on my own and later on I joined a club to improve my skills. This resulted in having made some internationally rewarded short films.

When in the early nineties I obtained some darkroom equipment, I started shifting towards photography, which was not a difficult transition at all after having made images with a film camera for so many years.

I discovered that with photography I could make just the images I loved, and that they could stand on their own, without the necessity to build a scenario around them.

And it didn’t take long before I discovered the most interesting and beautiful subject on earth: people. These can be male or female, done by candid photography, location or studio-shoots. Soon I specialised in portraits and nudes, shot in black and white.

Every new photo-shoot is always a new adventure, discovering the beauty of that particular person. A good picture is always a result of a ‘feel good’ moment, as well for the model as for the photographer. It’s a never ending search for ‘Magic Moments’. Therefore I find myself photographing in an intuitive manner, more relying on emotions than on technique.

And finally, just for the record:

Equipment used: Nikon FE, Nikon F601 and Nikon F801. But recently a new acquisition, a Nikon D100, opened a port to the digital world.
